FAMILY AND JUVENILE
Whether it is divorce, child custody, child and educational support, alimony, equitable division of assets or other areas of law associated with a divorce action, Attorney DeRosa has a unique perspective. As he does not regularly engage in the practice of family law at the trial level but appears frequently at the appellate level, he approaches these cases from a disengaged vantage point. His appellate experience, in turn, informs his appearance and approach to family matters in the Superior Court.
DIVORCE
Attorney DeRosa has handled divorce trials and appeals. He has experience in with cases that involve both financial matter alone and with cases where custody is disputed. Attorney DeRosa will assist a person in finding the most expeditious approach to obtaining a divorce and establishing a custody and visitation plan.
CHILD CUSTODY
In cases where children are involved and there is a dispute as to custody, the tensions can run high. A client, who is also a parent, may have great concerns he or she wants presented properly. Attorney DeRosa will provide a frank and honest assessment as to what is possible in establishing custody orders and parenting plan; he will assess the cost, both monetary and intangible, of challenging custody in Court at a trial.
CHILD AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
Child Support and Education Support are largely handled by statute and guidelines, but the process can be far from mechanical. Attorney DeRosa spent four years representing persons that were at risk of incarceration for failing to pay child support orders. In those years, he became intimately familiar with the child support guidelines, the statutes, and case law of child support and took a number of appeals to the Superior Court from decisions of the Family Support Magistrate. As a result, he has a thorough understanding of the law surrounding the establishment of child and educational support.
